O’s Notes: Guitarist Rodd Clouser leads an electric band on a journey that marries rock fusion and jazz. Twelve of the thirteen tracks are originals. “Curtis” is a tribute to Curtis Mayfield and it holds true to the legend with a cool funky groove. Among the best is “Jimena” which typifies the 1970s groove featured on this album. We also liked the Latin blues of “The Border at Pachacan”. This is Clouser’s third album since relocating to Mexico in 2006. He continues to evolve from rock to jazz but there is no denying his roots.
