O’s Notes: We like Maggie’s smoky voice and blues-style story telling. She teams with a strong team of musicians including co-producer, arranger and pianist Bill Conifer, Grant Geissman (g), Larry Koonse (g), Dean Taba (b) and Jake Reed (d). There are ten originals and two covers as Maggie gives us a small capsule of her life in a tough year that was riddled with a change in vocal tone, a broken arm and repeated episodes of the flu. That all spilled into“A Ton Of Trouble. There’s a lot to like including “Scheherazade”, the bouncy “Dance Me To The End Of Love” and “The Dave & The Bourbon”.
