O’s Notes: Jazz guitarist and composer Jim Robitaille has performed behind many jazz greats but leads the charge on A View From Within. Veteran saxophonist Dave Liebman keeps it mellow with warm melodies, especially on ballads like “Slow Tuesday” in concert with Robitaille. Tony Marino (b) and Alex Rita (d) round out the quartet. They combine on upbeat, fusion burners like “Pot of Origin” varying the tempo and feel throughout the session. Other highlights are “Nightfall” and “Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise”.
