O’s Notes: Cohen gives us a musical depiction of nature regrouping After The Big Rain. The band includes Jason Lindner (keyboards), Omer Avital (b), Daniel Freedman (d) and Lionel Loueke (g, vocals). Cohen plays trumpet with Yosvany Terry (chekere) appearing on half of the tunes. They start out slowly with the title track and gain momentum as the sun warms things up. They mellow out on “Meditation On The Chords” as things begin to stabilize. There are periods for growth on “Miryana” and then play on “African Daisy” before they wrap up with an epilogue of the title track. The music tells the story.
