O’s Notes: Glenna has performed for many years in clubs but this is her first CD. She selects a varied program of eleven covers including “Corcovado”, “Close Your Eyes” and Strayhorn’s “Lush Life”. The accompaniment is by her husband, John Ferrara who plays piano, bass and string/horn arrangements. Dan Calica does a fine job on guitar for three of the songs. The overall recording quality is also very good. Glenna’s voice is very expressive with dark tones that will excite some and disappoint others. We felt the best matches of the session were “You Stepped Out of a Dream” and “Lush Life”.
