O’s Notes: Akua Dixon plays cello, violin, sings and composed most of the music on“Akua’s Dance. Freddie Bryant (g), Kenny Davis (b) and Victor Lewis (d) are the primary accomplishment with guest artists Russell Malone (g) and Rob Carter (b) playing on a couple of songs each. The tone is mostly blue owed to Dixon’s violin melodies. Our favorite was “The Sweetest Taboo” capping a good set.
