O’s Notes: Her voice rings with splendor from the opening medley. She sings over a tight rhythm section featuring pianist Travis Shook, Jennifer Vincent (b) and drummer Jazz Sawyer while Kebbie Williams (sax) and Ron Westray (tb) provide warm brass accents. American Lullaby is a collection of songs that Nunn holds close to her heart. There is a nice variety of swing, blues and ballads. We liked “Don’t Be Blue”, “Living Room” and the theatrical “The Meaning Of The Blues” best. We really would like to see Veronica continue along these lines. She’s refreshingly cool while warming our soul at the same time.
