O’s Notes: Trombonist Samuel Blaser leads a quartet with guitarist Marc Ducret, bassist Bnz Oester and Gerald Cleaver on drums. They engage in a free flowing fusion effort to depict the sounds of the sea. The presentation of depth and space makes these sounds expansive and dynamic drawing listeners into the abyss. As the four-part set evolves, the band emerges culminating with an all-out jam session.
