O’s Notes: BANN is a fusion quartet featuring Seamus Blake (sax), Jay Anderson (b), Oz Noy (g) and Adam Nussbaum (d). They are all accomplished first call musicians. They present a program of originals mixed with standards arranged to their groove. We preferred the second half of the CD starting with “As You Like” featuring Blake whaling on sax and Noy working the wah-wah pedal. They are a tight unit and really cook on our favorite if the set “Minor Shuffle”.
