O’s Notes: The rhythm section is tight with Kevin Hayes (keyboards, vocals), Jimmy Johnson (b) and leader Steve Gadd on drums. It’s a live recording At Blue Note Tokyo December 18, 2019. There is excellent work on guitar by David Spinozza, and Walt Fowler’s muted trumpet speaks on “Where’s Earth”. That’s the predominant theme on this relaxing session with a cool blues grooves on “Hidden Drive”, “Rat Race”, “One Point Five” and “Walk With Me”.
