O’s Notes: Peggie comes from a musical family and was always encouraged to pursue her dream to be a singer. She is here, performing and happy on At Last! Her arrangement of “It Don’t Mean A Thing” is unique and noteworthy. It is one of eleven popular covers done tastefully. Her voice is somewhat raspy and packed with emotion. We enjoyed the swinging “Crossroads”, “What You Won’t Do For Love” and “The Nearness Of You” with fine accompaniment from both Doug MacDonald (g) and Ron Kobayashi (p). Perkins has crafted a unique style that works!
