O’s Notes: Audible Spirits is a trio featuring vibraphonist Matt Moran, vocalist Sarah Elizabeth Charles, and Custis Hasselbring (trombone and electronic sampling). The self-titled album juxtaposes the trio with electronic samples of Jamey Aebersold Play-A-Long recordings. The effect is a historic, futuristic sound. We liked “Peace”, “Misty” and “The Girl From Ipanema” best of the eight selections.
