O’s Notes: Omar, a master of the keyboards, pairs himself with a master of percussion, Gustavo Ovalles. Together they performed live last summer at Motion Blue in Yokohama, Japan. Ayaguna is the documentation of the experience. The music is alive as they draw on their African heritage and combine it with their Latin American culture. It is both peaceful and rousing but full of spirit in both cases. Our favorite is “Toridanzón” which also excited the crowd.
