O’s Notes: Curtis has a mellow slightly raspy voice. It is distinct and easy to warm up to. It suits this material, songbook standards and jazz classics. Larry Goldings handles the piano duty, nicely complementing Stigers and the rest of the band. Curtis returns to his roots on sax on two songs, notably “Parker’s Mood”, but he establishes himself as a crooner here.
