O’s Notes: Barot plays drums, keyboards, sings, arranges and composes Bada Boom. It is his attempt at marrying the music of East and West. The result is fresh jazz-fusion inspired by Zakir Hussain (tabla) and John McLaughlin (g). Both of the jazz legends join Ranjit during the session. We enjoyed the infectious syncopated rhythms of “Revolution”, dedicated to the memory of Charlie Mariano as well as “Origin”.
