O’s Notes: Bassist and composer Anne Mette Iversen leads a quartet including John Ellis (sax), Otis Brown (d) and pianist Danny Grissett. They perform a program that was influenced by Anne’s young son Milo. Milo made up melodies when he was two that are threaded through each of seven songs! The music comes from a child’s perspective as interpreted by solid jazz musicians. It is a novel concept and more importantly it works. Highlights are ” The Terrace”, “Trains & Chocolate” and “Cortot’s Wheel”.
