O’s Notes: The ZZ Quartet is led by guitarist Zjaca and Simone Zanchini (accordion, electronics) with bassist Martin Gjakonovski and Adam Nussbaum on drums. Their music is definitely off-the-beaten-path of jazz-fusion with elements of folk, blues and classical woven into the fabric. The global roots of the musicians (Croatia, Italy, Macedonia/Germany and New York) lends towards the amalgamation of the sound. “Freak In Freak Out” and “The Clockwork” are standout selections!
