O’s Notes: Pianist Ross leads a trio with Stephanie Huchard (d) and Dietmar Fuhr (b). They play eleven of Florian’s originals plus a cool arrangement of Coltrane’s “Giant Steps”. The three musicians present a large soundstage without stepping on each other’s toes. They bounce back and forth from the free form of “Small Pond – Swim II” to some cool fusion numbers like “Tizzie Whizzie” and “Puddles” while “Heads Up” is more accessible. We commend Ross for his creativity.
