O’s Notes: Forq (pronounced fork) is a funky, jazz fusion band created in 2012 with some Snarky Puppy DNA. They’ve evolved over the years to several quartet configurations, all featuring founding member, composer, producer, keyboardist Henry Hey. Cofounder, drummer JT Thomas plays on 6 of the 9 selections. Bass duty is handled by 4 musicians. Three guitarists split duty on Big Party. The music is syncopated with many catchy riffs. “Bump”, “Dirt Cake”, “Kick The Curb”, and “Song for Jim” and among the best selections.
