O’s Notes: The time was 1960, The place; Shane Park in the Detroit suburb, Birmingham. The musicians: Sandy Mosse leading the quartet and playing sax with Junior Mance (p), J. C. Heard (d) and Nick Fiore (b) for the opening three songs. Mance leads the trio rhythm section on “Willow Weep For Me” and Heard leads the trio on the final three cuts. It is truly a night to remember as they play nicely developed classics with a warm soul feeling on the ballads and bubbling spirit on the burners.
