O’s Notes: It’s a deep rich symphonic sound scape inspired by the tragic life and death of Elizabeth Short, “Black Dahlia”. The band ranges from solo piano to a 60+ member symphony with brassy blue tones from Joe Lovano (s), Tim Hagens, (t), Lew Soloff (t) and many others. This is possibly the best work (compositions and arrangement) by Belden to date!
