O’s Notes: Etta’s voice is deep and raspy but always tonally accurate. It is well suited for these bluesy ballads, eleven new arrangements of classics like “Cry Me A River”, “These Foolish Things” and “This Bitter Earth”. Cedar Walton (p) leads a rich and fully complimentary band. A lot to like with little to skip.
