O’s Notes: Composer, saxophonist Dave Anderson lines up a sizzling team with Tom Guarna (g), Pat Bianchi (organ) and Matt Wilson (d). They play up to their potential as individuals and even more so as a team with Dave’s originals. They really cook on “12-Step Blues” featuring both Guarna and Anderson with hot solos. Other highlights include “Redeye” and two dedications: “The Phantom” for Joe Henderson and the title track for Joey DeFrancesco. Blue Innuendo is a pleaser for lovers of modern jazz and contemporary jazz-fusion as well.
