O’s Notes: This is neobop, blues and ballads, a combination of new compositions by pianist, David Arnay with three newly arranged jazz classics like “In A Sentimental Mood”. It was recorded live and you can feel the spontaneous energy between the musicians, especially on “Bop-ish Blues”. We also liked the funky feel of “Kumbengo” and the way they swing on “Have You Met Miss Jones”. Larry Steen (b) and David Tull (d) round out the trio and they cook!
