O’s Notes: Le Kat takes a swing at singing sultry ballads in her self-produced debut. She is attempting to become a French chanteuse paralleling her film work. Le Kat composed a few of the tunes and is supported by Tabanou (g, keyboards), Brett Simons (b), Aaron Kaplan (g, banjo, mandolin), Larry Williams (t), Don Webb (sax, cl), Jimmy Levine (p), David Langlois (perc) and Mark David (d). The liner photos fit the bill while the music has a pulsating rock beat on songs like “Mista Twista”. It is not quite the traditional romance suggested by the title. We found it to be more of a rock ballad set with lots of reverberation.
