O’s Notes: Guitarist Alex Goodman leads a jazz-fusion quintet with Nick Morgan (sax), Darcey Myronuk (p), Dan Fortin (b) and Maxwell Roach (d). Each of them is featured during the session and well as providing strong support. They are one of Canada’s young jazz bands and play mostly original music written by Goodman. Alex has written over 100 compositions and fuses modern jazz with classical music. The two covers are arrangements of classical pieces by Bartok and Chopin. This CD will appeal to lovers of chamber music and mild fusion.
