O’s Notes: Torben plays guitar with Donny McCaslin (sax), Matt Clohesy (b), and Jon Wikan (d) fleshing out the quartet. Donny and Torben handle the melodies and they play with an open abundance of space that relaxes the listener. They open with “Alice” a blue ballad that sets the mood. “Jurotrash” is a more grungy fusion number followed by a return to tranquility on “Astro”. Next up is the soft fusion of “Seen From Above”, McCaslin’s tune. They conclude with “Jeep” for a peaceful finish. Waldorff does a nice job on this live set. It’s fresh, cooler, airy jazz that draws you into their mood.
