O’s Notes: Guitarist Bill Frisell teamed up with Eyvind Kang (viola), Hank Roberts (cello), Jenny Scheinman (violin) and Rudy Royston (d) at Glen Deven Ranch in Big Sur, CA during the summer of 2012. His creativity spawned the nineteen compositions on Big Sur, music that is festive in the spirit of a circus or state fair. The use of strings imparts a unique character that underscores the performance.
