O’s Notes: But Beautiful is the debut recording for Monica Chapman. She assembled a team of Canada’s finest musicians: Bill King (p), Duncan Hopkins (b), Mark Kelso (d), Anne Lindsay (violin), William Sperandei (t), Reg Schwager (g), and Luis Jorge Papiosco (perc). Chapman was inspired by the legendary jazz vocalists but makes this program her own. Lyrics are in English and French on “LAmour Le Vrais” all with heartfelt emotions. She’s off to a fine start.
