O’s Notes: This is a brief set of five tunes, three covers and two originals by vocalist Kristin Porter. She has a delicate sweet voice that is enticing. The band is Jody Nardone (p), Derek Phillips (d), Jim Mayer (b), Chris Contros (g), DD Holt (organ), Casey Wood (perc) and Max Abrams (sax). We liked the funky “Light of the Moon”, the light bossa nova groove of “Teach Me Tonight” and the reggae arrangement of “Moody’s Mood For Love”. She wraps the set with “Never Telling Me You Loved Me” shadowed by Abrams in a warm finish that leaves us anxiously awaiting more!
