O’s Notes: Kevyn has a beautiful voice, soft, gentle and with exceptional dynamic range. She teams with arranger and guitarist Dori Caymmi to record eleven standards. The music takes on new life, because these new arrangements are well paired with Lettau’s vocal signature. She sings and scats her way into our sweet spot – check out the duet with Watts, “It’s Delovely”. Other band members are Jerry Watts (b), Russell Ferrante (p), Mike Shapiro (d) with guest appearances by Paulino Da Costa (percussion) and Larry Goldings (Melodica). There is also a rich string section, notably on “I Concentrate On You”.
