O’s Notes: John leads his quartet playing both tenor and soprano sax in complex melodies. The music is modern jazz that swings. “A House Is Not A Home” and the title track are good examples. There is also a touch of fusion on “Tank Toons” and some subtle romance on “Surrounded By the Night” and “Indian Summer”. The theme continues over nine tracks making this a cool session.
