O’s Notes: The Wee Trio is James Westfall (vibes), Dan Loomis (b) and Jared Schonig (d). They play a no holds barred style racing through the changes. The sound is different with an abundance of percussion owing to the elements and Schonig’s use of his entire set. The miking of the drums gives them a large and commanding presence. Among the best songs are “Wherever You Go, There You Are”, the mellow “Snow Day” and “White Out”. Once we got adjusted to their approach, we found it quite enjoyable.
