O’s Notes: Brian Landrus leads a band with co producer Michael Cain (p), Nor Felder (g), Matthew Parish (b) and Rudy Royston (d). Brian arranged and composed all eight selections, a fresh set of jazz-fusion. There is a subtle funky groove on the opener that permeates through the entire set. Felder makes his presence known with a driving solo on “Like the Wind” that speaks volumes. Royston takes center stage with his solo at the end of “Capsule”. Landrus ushers his bass clarinet, bass flute and baritone sax into the mainstream presenting us with fresh contemporary jazz that is very appealing.
