O’s Notes: This is certainly one of the greatest fusion recordings. Originally released in 1974, Stan (sax) joined with Return To Forever: Chick Corea (p), Stanley Clarke (b), Tony Williams (d) and Airto Morieira (perc). They performed a series of live sets as well as this recording, most of which is material written by Chick. “Lush Life” is one exception and Getz does an excellent job there polishing Strayhorn’s classic. The final 3 cuts are a bonus, previously unreleased rounding out a monumental recording.
