O’s Notes: Guitarist Josh Maxey Sparks up a Celebration of Soul mixing jazz-fusion with cool jazz and soul on seven original songs. Brian Charette works the B3 with Chase Baird (sax) and Jeremy Noller on drums. Rodney Jones (g) makes a guest appearance on three selections notably “Cycles of Sound” and the title track. Brett Parnell (lap steel guitar), David Parnell (g) and Michael Cioffero (g) join Josh on “Brooklyn Sunrise” and “Colorado Sunset” two songs that paint desolate pictures. Maxey adds 3 radio mixes that pop to balance his set.
