O’s Notes: This is a Latin throwback CD featuring vocalist Abelardo Barroso with Orquesta Senscion. These recordings were made in Havana during the 1950s, considered the golden age of Cuban music. Barroso sings (in Spanish) with lots of passion and the percussion-laced support is definitive and memorable. “Tiene Sabor”, “El Huerganito” and “La Mulata Rumbera” are among the best.
