O’s Notes: Jerry opens with the swinging romantic ballad “Come Prima” sang in both English and Italian. They move into a Latin vibe next before settling into a cool mix of vocals and instrumentals. We really liked “Gentle Tears” featuring Guido Bassa (flugel horn) and Jerry’s arrangement of “Watermelon Man”. Changes represents the trials and tribulations of Jerry’s life, hence a wide variety of styles including the blues/pop of “Great Balls of Fire” which otherwise is out of place in this set. But there’s a lot to like here with Caringi singing lead vocals, playing the piano, organ and accordion.
