O’s Notes: Guitarist Mark Kleinhart invites trumpeter Tiger Okoshi to play with his trio. The chemistry is immediately apparent on the opener “Cape Hatteras”, a relaxed fusion cut. They move into some blues “Water Waltz”, a ballad “Erika’s Living Room” and swing on “Bluejay”. “Three Olives”, the lone trio track allows the core to open up a bit before they conclude with the funky “After Hours”. Tiger’s work is a nice enhancement of the trio while Mark shows his versatility including some nice changes in “Talk To You Later”. Chasing Tales is Kleinhart’s best effort to date.
