O’s Notes: Collective Thinking is a project featuring Johnnie Valentino (g), Jimmy Haslip (b), Clayton Cameron (d) and Alan Pasqua (p). Will Atrope Jr. starts the motion with a precise trumpet solo on “Advent”. Mick Rossi (p) and Ken Burgomaster (p) also appear with vocalist Elissa Lala adding a soft touch in the background We particularly enjoyed Valentino’s work on “Hard Times”, many vibrant bass solos by Haslip, and the funky groove on “I Hear Ya”.
