O’s Notes: This 3-CD set is a compilation of the history of the Concord Music Group. They combed their vaults for the best and this is the result. Discs 1 and 2 have the soul of Stax and the down-home blues of Takoma, Fantasy and Specialty Records. Hits include “Mr. Big Stuff”, “Do The Funky Chicken” by Rufus Thomas and Johnnie Taylor’s “Who’s Making Love”. Disc 3 continues with classic soul from Little Richard before some TV classics “Linus And Lucy” and “Hikky Burr”. Other highlights are “Keep On Runnin'”, “Copacabana 2005” and “The Pink Panther Theme”. This triangular set illustrates the breadth of the Concord Music Group catalog.
