O’s Notes: Bill grew up on the East Coast in Maine studied at Berklee college before making his way to the West Coast where he served as the house guitarist at Harrah’s in Las Vegas and in Reno, before becoming a leader of the orchestra. He’s played with a wealth of different jazz All-Stars and just released Try This, the latest in a string of excellent recordings. Moio is amplified by world class talent including George Whitty (keyboards), Jimmy Haslip, (b), Tommy Brechtlein (d), Eric Marienthal (sax), Wayne Bergeron (t), and Andy Martin (tb). This can be summarized as cool, funky guitar, with wailing saxophone on an R&B-laced, smooth jazz adventure! “Friends Again”, “Need To Know” and the title track are just a few of the gems.
