O’s Notes: Keyboardist Steve Hunt presents nine original compositions featuring a wide array of musicians and band configurations. The bottom line is these Connections work! There’s a cool, funky sway on the opener “Now’s The Time”. Joshua Hunt and Sophia Wackerman add vocals on “Prayer For A New Day” as we all try to rise from the woes of the pandemic… then shifting to fusion with guitarist Alex Machacek lighting it up for “Memories of Sherwood”. Racy fusion featuring guitarist Randy Roos and bassist Evan Marien surfaces on “First Creation”, dedicated to the late Victor Bailey. Bassist Skuli Sverrisson opens “Le Zonage Trois” with a fine solo. Bassist Matt Garrison and drummer Tom Brechtlein shine on “Full Plate”. And bassist John Patitucci is featured on the title track.
