O’s Notes: Canadian drummer Barry Romberg leads his band Random Access through a creative set of jazz-fusion tunes. The band includes Ben Monder on guitar, Ravi Naimpally (tabla), Kelly Jefferson (ts, ss) and Kirk McDonald (ts). The music is very open (sometimes free jazz) with a wealth of juicy riffs. We preferred the mix on the second CD especially the second segment do “End of An Era”. It will appeal to a select audience and they will kill for it.
