O’s Notes: Pete plays sax and leads the band through a series of unusual titles. They turn out to be reasonable descriptors of the music within! We liked the layered syncopation of “The Hate Laugh Shimmy” and the cool vibe of “La Linea”. “Anyway, And” danced on the edge of free jazz while “Stiff Upper Lip” was more rock fusion. The ten songs alternated from an open landscape to more structured fusion. All of the pieces were composed and arranged by Robbins, a major with a true creative sense.
