O’s Notes: As suggested by the title, Lawrence is a woman and she is not at all bashful. She opens out front on “On Time” a duet with bassist Denny Croy. They pair up again for “It’s Not the First Time”, “I Should Care” and “Was That Love”. There’s a country ragtime feel on “Cowboy Singing Boogie Woogie” and also on “Rose, Rose”. Lebo alternates between the two formats but she really shines on the duets. We also enjoyed the heartfelt blues of “Walking The Back Streets”. Lebo wrote most of the tunes and arranged the rest placing her dramatic signature on all of the music. This formula works as we found it to be an enjoyable set.
