O’s Notes: Darby’s deep rich vocals catch your attention immediately on the opener “Speak Low”. She’s out front and well articulated, even when the pace speeds up on “Farmer’s Market”. Listen to her soar on “500 Miles High” and “Early Autumn” and you feel the power of her voice. The program has a wide variety of standards and the title track that is composed by pianist Christopher Cherney and Dizard. Darby sings her heart out backed by a fine band including Tony Romano (g), Jim Cammack (b) Cyro Baptista (perc) and Artie Dixson (d). This is a pleasantly good performance.
