O’s Notes: E. S. T., Esbjörn’s Trio has been called the best jazz trio in Europe. Dan Berglund (b) and Magnus ström (d) are the remaining elements. This is a 1995 live session with a bonus track from the 1996 Montreux Jazz Festival. Pianist Svensson composed all of the tunes. The band cooks on “The Rube Thing”, swings on “Happy Heads And Crazy Feds” and then simmers on “Breadbasket”. These Swedes have versatility and a lot of energy!
