O’s Notes: Swiss composer/pianist Sylvie Courvoisier forms a trio with bassist Drew Gress and drummer Kenny Wollesen on Eclats, an energy packed live session recorded during her European tour (Essen, Munich and Paris are represented). The music is balanced with lots of air, allowing each musician to explode yet remain melodic in this free jazz endeavor. We liked it a lot. “Just Twisted”, “Imprint Double”, “Downward Dog”, and “Big Steps Towards Silence” are some of the best.
