O’s Notes: This 2-CD set features fusion guitarist Fred Frith paired with strings. The music is a fusion of jazz and classical forms. “Lelekovice ” is the first movement with the Arditti String Quartet with nine sections. “Tense Serenity”, a 5-part movement featuring a string trio and trombone, follows this. The second CD adds guitar(s) alone and in combination with strings. The music can be very engaging but it is serene, open and well suited for background in a modern art gallery.
